 The Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds Golf Course was formerly the property that was home to the Barnstable County Fair, hence the name. The golf course opened in 1992 and is one of two Municipal
Golf Courses in the Town of Barnstable. The Town established
ownership of Hyannis Golf Course in 2006 so members can now enjoy two
great championship courses.
Mark Mungeam, of Cornish, Sylva, and Mungeam
architected and designed the par 71 course with
large undulating greens, deceptive approaches, and large chipping
areas. The golf course has
gained a reputation as a true test
of championship caliber, hosting such events as the Massachusetts Mid
Amateur, Massachusetts
Amateur, USGA Mid Amateur, US Amateur, and the US Open
Qualifiers.
Open to the public, open year round.
